How TechBiz Academy works

The academy is the teaching side of a working security company. The people who mark your assignments spend the rest of the week doing penetration tests and running a security operations centre, and the material is built out of that work rather than out of a textbook. Everything described here is free, runs entirely online, and is open to anyone — no degree, no prior IT job, no fee.

Internships: six weeks, eighteen tasks

The internships are the main programme. Three tracks run in parallel — CCNA Networking, SOC Analyst and Ethical Hacking — and each is six weeks long with eighteen practical tasks, three a week. A task unlocks on its own date, stays open for forty-eight hours, and asks you to do something and then write up what you did. A mentor reads the write-up and scores it out of ten on the work itself, not on a multiple-choice answer. Finish the programme and the certificate you receive carries a credential ID and a public verification link, so an employer can check it is real.

Labs: a practice range you can open right now

Eighteen browser-based labs cover the ground the internships assume, from your first Linux commands through web enumeration, SQL injection, privilege escalation, packet analysis, malware triage and incident response. Each one is a simulated terminal with objectives and graded questions, so you type real commands and get real output without installing anything or touching a real system. They need no account to start.

Who this is for

Most people who finish are students or career changers with no security job yet. The thing that decides who completes it is not background but consistency — showing up for each task window while working around a degree or a day job. If you have never opened a terminal, start with the Kali Linux lab and the Cybersecurity Fundamentals course; both assume nothing.
